if you have insomnia, you can use it as sleeping pills; otherwise you can't do anything after taking it

Cheap and STILL THE MOST effective antihistamine
I purchased these a couple of months ago and couldn't be happier. They work just as well as the name brands.
Out of all the antihistamines I've tried, Diphenhydramine is the most effective and my favorite.
The only drawback is the first couple of days you take it it will make you sleepy. This effect doesn't last long and after 3 days its like using the non-drowsy formulas except Diphenhydramine actually works! Only drawback is the frequency you have to take it, every 4 hr to 6 hrs. Its too bad they don't make a extended release, otherwise it'd be perfect for my allergies.
Those of you looking into this product as a regular use sleep aid, look elsewhere. Tolerance builds fast and it will no longer put you to sleep after 3 days unless you take high doses [NOT RECOMMENDED!]. I recommend Doxylamine as a sleep aid, its more powerful than some prescription drugs!

I purchased this for my dog who has skin allergies in the summer. Besides his occasional use, I take it for my allergies. It works as good or better than anything else on the market.... at least for me. Great price

Buy this product from one of the third party vendors here on Amazon and even with shipping, you get 400 pills for about the price of 24 pills at your local drug store. ALWAYS look for or ask about the expiration date on products like this sold on line. I bought this on June 4, 2010 and the experation date is in the year 2012, so I will use them well in advance of the expiration date. GREAT VALUE!!!
