Buchu leaf preparations have a long history of use in traditional herbal medicine as a urinary tract disinfectant and diuretic. It was used to treat urinary tract infections and inflammation as well as inflammation of the prostate. In Europe, it was also used to treat gout. Raised on Rooibos
I'm an expat South African. Afrikaner, raised on Rooibos. Our children drink Rooibos instead of soda, its great for invalids, the elderly, insomnia, tension, add a slice of lemon and some honey and its a cold remedy. If you HAVE to drink iced tea, make it rooibos!
Buchu is a tried and trusted home remedy. It also works very well as a soothing poultice on a sprained joint.
